Police refuse to provide information to committee

Police have refused to provide information to Parliament Privileges Committee regarding their investigation on the stabbing of Feydhoo MP Alhan Fahmy.

Police refused to attend the committee after being summoned for 1:30 p.m. today.

Chairperson of Parliament Privileges Committee Imthiyaz Fahmy told Sun Online that the police had sent a letter the parliament explaining their absence.

In the letter, they said that it was not possible to share information with the parliament regarding their investigations of assaults and other physical crimes.

The police also said that as much information as possible will be provided on the investigation of the stabbing of Feydhoo MP Alhan Fahmy, if the parliament sent a letter requesting this information.

Police have arrested two individuals, Mohamed Sameeh and Mohamed Naseem in relation to this crime.
