Woman gets 25-year prison sentence for forcing minor into prostitution

Fuvahmulah Magistrate Court has sentenced a woman to 25 years in prison for forcing a minor into prostitution.

The convict, Saeeda Hassan, 39, was found guilty of encouraging an underage girl into engaging in sexual activities on multiple occasions with a person who is now 33 years old.

The court said that despite Saeeda’s denial of the claims, the evidence presented by the State was sufficient to prove that she was guilty of this crime.
