Safe stolen in Dhangethi, found shortly afterwards by police

Police have found a safe within one and a half hours of it being stolen from the Health Centre in Alifu Dhaalu Dhangethi, and also arrested two suspects.

Police said in a statement that the suspects are men aged 26 and 33, and that they were arrested yesterday evening under a court warrant.

Police said that officers patrolling the island on Thursday night checked the Health Centre after they observed that a window was open, and found that the safe had been stolen. The officers found the safe hidden in an uninhabited house in the island, about one and a half hours later that night.

The safe and the money inside had not been tampered with, said the police.

This case is under investigation by Alifu Dhaalu Dhangethi Police Station.
