Aminiya School has awarded this year’s Ameen Didi Scholarship, introduced 19 years ago.
The scholarship was presented at a ceremony at Aminiya School today to winner Aminath Samaha, of Sandhubaraka, Haa Alifu Dhidhdhoo, by Minister of Education Dr Aishath Shiham.
Ameen Didi Scholarship, introduced in 1995, is awarded yearly to the student who scores highest in a test among scholarship applicants. Applicants should have completed Grade 7 in an atoll school, and the winner gets the opportunity for secondary education at Aminiya School.
Aminiya School covers all study costs and provides pockets money to the winner until she takes her O-Level Exam.
Speaking at today’s ceremony, Education Minister Dr Shiham said that Aminiya School, since being established in 1940, has achieved great things, and produced capable human resources to serve the country.
