Elections Commission has started drawing lots to determine candidate order on ballot papers for the Parliamentary Election.
Drawing of lots started at 8:00 a.m. today, and will continue until Saturday.
316 candidates have submitted forms to contest the Parliamentary Election scheduled for 22 March.
This includes 183 forms submitted by political parties, and 133 forms by independent candidates.
Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) submitted 85 forms, while Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) submitted 50 forms, Jumhooree Party 28 forms, Adhaalath Party 13 forms, and Maldives Development Alliance 7 forms.
