Parliament approves Mohamed Fayaz as Maldivian Ambassador for Malaysia

The parliament has approved the appointment of Mohamed Fayaz as the Ambassador of Maldives in Malaysia.

At the extraordinary parliament sitting today, 39 MPs voted in favour while 19 MPs voted against this appointment.

Fayaz has previously held the posts of Minister of State for Home Affairs and Deputy Commissioner of Police.

Mohamed Zaki resigned from the post of Maldivian Ambassador for Malaysia in November 2013.
