Child seriously injured in an accident in S. Feydhoo

A 14 year old is being treated in the ICU following an accident involving a speeding motorcycle on Link Road, Addu.

Police said that the accident took place this afternoon, when the speeding motorcycle lost control as it tried to make a turn near the Stadium. Mohamed Sami, 14, went flying and hit bags of sand used for building the harbor, and sustained serious head injuries. He is currently in Hithadhoo Hospital.

Mohamed Aleef, 15, who was also on the same cycle, suffered abrasions and injured the big toe on his right foot.

A 54 year old man died in an accident near the waste management area in Addu city yesterday.
