MDP has advised against the participation of children in the march against Police brutality planned to take place today.
MDP said in a statement released today that the march will be held this evening to mark the International Day Against Police Brutality, and advised against the participation of children under 18.
“As the involvement of children below the age of 18 in political events is inappropriate, we urge people to not take their kids to such events.”
MDP said that a large number of women and elderly will take part in today’s peaceful march.
MDP is accused of allowing the participation of a large number of children in the protest held in Aa. Ukulhas on 9 March.
In addition, MDP recently held a children’s evening at Raalhugan’du area in Male’. They were accused by Child Abuse Prevention Society (CAPS) of having used children to attain political objectives. CAPS also condemned this activity.
