Maldives Customs has announced its action plan to achieve ten goals in the first 100 days of the new government.
This was announced by Commissioner General of Customs Ahmed Mohamed at a press conference today.
He said that the targets set by institution are achievable, but it would be considered an achievement even if they are able to achieve only 80 percent.
The targets set by Customs include introducing ‘e-gate pass portal’ service to strengthen surveillance of import of alcohol and pork, establishing an export post at Ibrahim Nasir International Airport to strengthen export services, establishing pre-declaration to speed up clearance of couriered goods, conducting mass awareness campaigns in order to inform the public about prohibited and restricted items into the country, and introducing online payment mechanisms and faster clearance for postal and courier Items.
