Maldivian family injured in auto accident in India

A Maldivian mother and two sons suffered injuries after the auto rickshaw in which they were travelling in Mysore, India, fell into a river.

A Foreign Ministry official said today that the accident occurred while the mother and two of her sons were on their way to the hospital. The woman had a severe gash on her arm and the younger boy had suffered a broken leg, the official said. The remaining boy is reported to have escaped with minor injuries.

In a separate incident last week, a Maldivian family suffered serious injuries when their car collided with a truck as the family was returning to Trivandrum after visiting the Taj Mahal in Agra.
