Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has ordered the cancellation of 139 housing flat applications after their review of a case stating that C- category forms had been passed the set regulations.
In a statement released on Thursday, ACC said that their review of the case has shown that 139 of the 440 applications, who have already made it to the short-list for the C-category flats in Male and Hulhumale', must be cancelled as they have been awarded points against the rules announced by the Veshi-Fahi program office.
ACC noted that 86 individuals stated in the applications were wrongly awarded points for being registered in the Male’ Dhaftharu general registry, and another 223 people wrongly assessed for their time since migration to Male’, another 43 people were falsely evaluated based on their duration of marriage, and a total of 47 individuals were wrongly awarded points for their monthly income.
ACC said that the shortlist procedure for the C-category flats' application forms were carried in contradiction to the Attorney General's advice and that evaluation of the 139 forms had facilitated corruption.
