State charges man who crashed into police officer Misbah

State has raised charges against the individual who was driving the motorcycle that hit and killed 22 year old Police Corporal Misbah Abdulla on 1 June this year.

Media Official at the Criminal Court Ahmed Mohamed Manik said the Hussain Afeef, 28, of Shaviyani Foakaidhoo Araamuge has been charged with dangerous and reckless driving.

The accident took place around 4:00 am on 1 June 2013.

Misbah died while being treated for the injuries. The motorcycle is reported to have crashed into him on purpose.

A Constable when he passed away, Maldives Police Service has promoted Misbah to the rank of Corporal and has decided to continue the relevant allowances to Misbah's family.
