Request for approval of ministers forwarded to committee for review

President Abdulla Yameen’s request to seek parliament approval for the first five appointments to his cabinet has today been forwarded to the Parliament Committee on Oversight of the Government for review.

The cabinet members include; Minister of Finance and Treasury Abdulla Jihad, Minister of Defence and National Security Colonel Rtd Mohamed Nazim, Minister of Tourism Ahmed Adheeb, Minister of Foreign Affairs Dhunya Maumoon, and Minister of Transport and Communication Ameen Ibrahim.

President’s nomination for High Commissioner of Maldives to Malaysia, former Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rtd) Mohamed Fayaz’s name was also forwarded to the Government Oversight Committee today.
