Thief who fell from fifth storey dies

An individual, who went into an apartment in Galolhu to steal, has fallen from the fifth storey of that building and died while being treated for serious head injuries at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

The police have not revealed the name of the 29-year-old who fell while trying to escape after being caught stealing from Galolhu Mutheege at 1:30 a.m. last night (Thursday night).

The individual was bleeding from the ears and was unconscious when he was taken to IGMH. He died after about one and a half hours of treatment.

When he fell on to the street from Mutheege, police officers and the people on the street tied cloth around his head to stop the bleeding from his ears, and took him to the hospital.

The police said that he fell while trying to escape after he was caught stealing, and that he tried to jump from the balcony of the fifth storey to the balcony of the fourth storey, but slipped and fell to the ground.
