AAA Company dhoni sinks

AAA Company’s dhoni ‘AAA 28’ has ended up on the reef on the west of K. Maaadhiggaru and sunk last night. The dhoni departed from Male’ bound for F. Filitheyo.

The reason for the dhoni ending up on the reef is unclear. MNDF said that they received information on this accident at around 2.10am last night, and that the dhoni was carrying seven men, five women and three children. No person was injured and they have all been brought to Male’ this morning.

MNDF also said that work to remove the dhoni from the reef is underway in collaboration with the dhoni owner. These efforts have so far however not been successful. He said that several goods on board the dhoni are now afloat in the sea.

Another AAA Company dhoni is also on-site, assisting the one in trouble.
