Police arrested 11 individuals from Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) protests on Saturday night.
Police said that they have released all 11 individuals, who were arrested for disobeying police orders and creating unrest in the streets of the capital, Male’.
MDP has staged nightly protests calling for the Supreme Court to lift the injunction postponing the second round of the presidential election and demanding quick elections.
Some of the men arrested were wearing face masks and helmets and wielding sticks to at the time of their arrest, police said.
Police has published video appealing for public assistance to identify a man seen vandalizing a CCTV camera on Chaandhanee Magu during the Saturday night protests.
The protests, held in different locations in the capital on Saturday, continued on well past midnight.
