A fire has broken out at a workshop next to the residence of President of Elections Commission, Fuad Thaufeeg.
The incident occurred at 10:45 p.m. when a tyre on the roof of the workshop caught fire. The fire was soon controlled.
Workshop operator, owner of Ma. Laamige Aage, told Sun Online that the fire was sparked by an ashtray that fell on the roof of the workshop from a window of the first storey of Fuad Thaufeeg’s residence. He said that ashtrays often fall on the roof of the workshop.
Fuad Thaufeeg was unavailable for comment at the time of press.
