Criminal Court today heard the charges against Henveyru-south MP Hamid Abdul Gafoor, and has allowed him to answer for the charge of refusing to give urine samples to the authorities.
Announcing the charges to the court, the state prosecutor said that MP Hamid Abdul Gafoor had denied to provide urine samples to the police, following accusations of using narcotics in Haa Dhaalu Hondaidhoo on 16th November 2012.
MP Hamid was presented to court today under police custody and was released after the hearing.
The court announced that it will hear MP Hamid’s answer to his charges in the next hearing.
In a separate indictment, MP Hamid denied the charges of possession of alcohol, which was also raised in relation to his arrest from Hondaidhoo.
State has also raised charges of using cannabis against MP Hamid Abdul Gafoor, hearings for which is yet to begin.
