Stolen safe from Magistrate

The police have retrieved a safe stolen from the house of the Magistrate of Gaafu Dhaalu Fares-Maathoda.

The police said that out of the money in the safe, more than MVR 66,000 has been retrieved.

The police said that the case was reported at 11:26 p.m. last night, and that the safe was found broken in an abandoned house in the island this afternoon.

The money was found buried among some trees, said the police.

Seven people have been arrested in relation to this crime.

This case is under investigation by Gaafu Dhaalu Thinadhoo Police Station.
