EC to place 473 ballot boxes for second round of polls

Elections Commission has said that a total of 473 ballot boxes will be placed in the country and abroad, for the second round of the presidential elections to be held on the 28th of September.

In an interview to Sun today, Secretary General of the Elections Commission Asim Abdul Sattar said that in addition to the 470 ballot boxes placed in the first round, the Commission will be placing 3 boxes in Riyadh of Saudi Arabia, and two tourist resorts.

“We have decided to place 473 ballot boxes for the second round of the presidential elections. We’re place new boxes in two resorts and another in Madina, Riyadh, aimed at Hajj pilgrims,” Asim said.

He said that all other ballot boxes will be placed in the same polling stations as before, although he admitted that there were obstacles to placing ballot boxes in certain stations that were utilized during the first round.

Elections Commission has invited voters to check their registered polling stations and file grievances regarding their registration.
