Chemical bottles break in Arabiyya School

Bottles of chemicals inside Arabiyya School’s laboratory broke on Wednesday, spilling chemicals.

According to the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF), the incident happened around 12:00 a.m. last night, while the laboratory was being cleaned ahead of the inauguration of the school’s new building today.

Nobody was injured in the incident, MNDF media officer said.

Arabiyya School was unavailable for comment at the time of press.

MNDF said that the exposed chemicals have now been cleared from the laboratory and disposed in the Kalhuthukkala military base.
