Police check houses in Hithadhoo under

The police have started conducting checks on houses under a ‘critical’ operation in Seenu Hithadhoo.

Chief Inspector of Police, South Division, Ahmed Shifan said that the operation is ongoing in Hithadhoo, and due to the nature of the case, it was not possible to provide details at this stage.

“We’re not able to provide details at the moment due to the nature of the case. We will give information later. All we can say is that the operation is ongoing in Hithadhoo,” he said.

He said that the houses are being checked under a court warrant.

The police arrested a man in Hithadhoo on Friday on suspicion of practising black magic. The suspect was however released by the court yesterday.

Several incidents of buying and selling of identity cards have also been reported from Addu City.
