Dr. Latheef assumes responsibilities as CSC President

The newly appointed President of the Civil Service Commission (CSC), Dr. Mohamed Latheef has assumed the responsibilities of his office today.

In a circular released by the Commission, Dr. Latheef stated that, as he has received the letter of appointment by the Speaker of the Parliament, he has assumed the responsibilities of his office as the President of the Civil Service Commission, starting from today.

“I would like to state that I have assumed the office of the President of this Commission and its responsibilities, and will continue from this day forth,” the circular, signed by Dr. Latheef read.

CSC’s former President Mohamed Fahumy Hassan was dismissed by the parliament after an investigation for allegations of sexual misconduct.

In a letter to President Waheed yesterday, Dr. Latheef requested the issue of Fahmy Hassan be expedited, as the Commission is facing serious problems because Fahumy “continues to officially attend the work of the Commission”, even after his dismissal.
