Supreme Court orders to halt Reenee Abdul Sattar taking oath as CSC member

The Supreme Court has ordered to halt the ceremony for Fathimath Reenee Abdul Sattar to take oath as a member of the Civil Service Commission (CSC).

Reenee Abdul Sattar was appointed as a member of the CSC by the parliament after it declared that President of CSC Mohamed Fahmy Hassan had lost his CSC seat.

The Supreme Court order came after Reenee Abdul Sattar went to the President’s Office to take oath and accept her letter of appointment as a member of the CSC.

Press Secretary at the President’s Office Masood Imad said that the ceremony for Reenee Abdul Sattar to take oath as a member of CSC, scheduled for 2:30 pm today, has been cancelled following the Supreme Court order.

Masood did not provide any details regarding the order, and the Supreme Court has also not provided any information yet.

The parliament earlier approved to dismiss President of CSC Mohamed Fahmy Hassan from the post of member of CSC. Fahmy has not attended work since yesterday.

Fahmy told Sun today that he will inform later how he plans to ‘proceed with the issue’.
