Three to be prosecuted for possession and consumption of alcohol

The police have sent a case against three people to the Prosecutor General’s (PG) Office for possession and consumption of alcohol.

The police said that the suspects are Ahmed Minthaz, 45; Ahmed Ahlam, 42; and Risma Umar, 23.

The police said that they are being accused of possession and consumption of alcohol in a rented apartment on 28 October 2010 at 23:10.

Three glasses and one bottle containing alcohol were discovered on a table in the apartment, and four bottles of alcohol were discovered in a bag in a room in the apartment, said the police.

The police said that breathalyzer tests on the three suspects came back positive.

The case was sent to the PG Office on 30 July, said the police.
