MIRA collects MVR 1.3 billion as revenue in July

The Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has reported that it collected MVR 1.3 billion as revenue in July 2013.

The Monthly Revenue Collection Report July 2013 published by MIRA states that total revenue collection increased by 98.8 percent compared with July 2012.

Revenue collection in July 2013 was however 3.3 percent less than forecast.

MIRA said that US Dollar revenue collection in July 2013 was $24.8 million.

MIRA collected most revenue from Business Profit Tax (BPT), which was MVR 594.7 million.

GST collection was MVR 275.7 million, while Bank Profit Tax collection was MVR 234.1 million.

By the end of July 2013, MIRA had collected total revenue of MVR 5.9 billion, which is MVR 4.1 billion less when compared with the corresponding period last year.
