Elections Commission has said that a total of 66 individuals from different international parties are scheduled to observe the September 7th presidential elections this year.
In an interview to Sun today, President of the Elections Commission Fuad Thaufeeq said that another 22 individuals will act as international monitors.
“According to what different foreign countries have told us, a total of 66 individuals will act as observers for the presidential elections this year. Another 22 monitors will also come from overseas,” Fuad Thaufeeq said.
He said that 2,256 individuals have registered as local observers from non-governmental organizations and political parties, and another 1,735 individual monitors, all from different media organizations.
Fuad said that an additional 339 individuals have registered as representatives from the presidential candidates.
