Three arrested for trafficking drugs worth MVR 1,000,000

The police have seized drugs worth MVR 1,000,000 and arrested the traffickers.

The police said that two suspects aged 23 and 25 were arrested at the airport, after they cleared security and were on their way to the ferry to Male’. They arrived in the Maldives on a flight from India this morning.

The police said that the drugs were found hidden in the shoes of the 25 year old.

The police said that a third suspect aged 25 was also arrested at 11:40 today in Male’ in relation to this case.

The drugs seized today weighed 500 grams and have a street value of MVR 1,000,000, said the police.
