Chinese tourist drowns in swimming pool

A Chinese tourist has drowned in a swimming pool in Robinson Club Maldives in Gaafu Alif Funamadua.

The incident occurred yesterday afternoon. Sun is aware that the female Chinese national, above 50 years of age, died while swimming at the deeper end of the pool. Sun was told that although there were other guests present at the pool, they were unaware that the woman had drowned and that she was discovered inside the pool.

Efforts are being made to transport the body to her home town in China.
