The wife of Ahmed Thasmeen Ali, Maduvvari MP Visam Ali has said that people should not have to suffer their whole lives for misdemeanours they commit as youths, and that special attention has been paid to youths’ needs in the president’s manifesto for the upcoming election.

Visam Ali said this while speaking at a function held in Hulhumeedhoo, Addu City, as part of a visit with President Dr Mohamed Waheed’s wife Ilham Hussain to gain support for the president for the election.

“Dr Waheed is definitely not of the view that people should suffer their whole lives for misdemeanours they commit as youths,” she said.

She said that President Waheed’s manifesto is being prepared to ensure numerous opportunities for the youth.

She also called on women to increase participation in campaigns.

Visam Ali and Ilham Hussan visited some houses in Hulhumeedhoo and met with some women in the island yesterday.
