Two members of the committee formed by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) to investigate the case of Supreme Court Judge Ali Hameed, who has been accused of being involved in a sex video, have resigned from the committee.
The members who resigned are Member of JSC appointed by the president, Latheefa Gasim, and Vice President of JSC, Abdullah Didi.
The commission confirmed that two members had resigned from the committee, but said that it was not possible to provide details at this stage.
The resignations came after the committee met yesterday to discuss a suggestion put forward by the investigation team to take interim action against Ali Hameed.
Sun Online has come to know that the two members resigned after some members of the commission questioned the work of the committee at yesterday’s meeting.
Meanwhile, JSC has said that in addition to the sex video involving Ali Hameed, the commission’s legal team is also investigating a video which shows the judge discussing politics with businessman Mohamed Saeed (Golden Lane), and a video showing the judge meeting with former Controller of Immigration Ilyas Hussain Ibrahim in a restaurant.
