Nasheed aims subtle praise to former Minister Abdulla Hameed

Maldivian Democratic Party’s presidential candidate Mohamed Nasheed has subtly praised Abdulla Hameed, the former Minister of Atolls and prominent figure in Maumoon Abdul Gayoom’s administration.

Praising Hameed, former President Nasheed said: “Honourable Abdulla Hameed has contributed innumerable services to the State, for a very long period of time.”

Speaking to the press in Mookai Suites yesterday, Nasheed said that the house of Endherimaage (family of Gayoom’s wife Nasreena) and Abdulla Hameed’s own children are interested in joining MDP.

“I believe that the children of Endherimaage will entertain the thought of joining MDP and its ideology.”

Former President Nasheed and senior member of the Maldivian Democratic Party has, on numerous occasions, accused Abdulla Hameed of blatant corruption and expressed frustration over the lag of Hameed’s cases in court.
