The police have said that they are currently investigating a case related to a sex video involving Supreme Court Judge Ali Hameed Mohamed.

The police media official told Sun Online that the police are also investigating cases against the suspects who recorded the video, and used the video to blackmail others.

Speaking at a rally held by Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) earlier, Feydhoo MP Alhan Fahmy said that the police summoned a man from his constituency and tried to intimidate him to force him to say that the video was created by Alhan.

Alhan also said in a tweet earlier that the police were investigating a video involving Supreme Court Judge Ali Hameed.

A few days later, the police summoned businessman from Feydhoo, Addu City, Mohamed Saeed, for questioning regarding the sex video.

Mohamed Saeed’s lawyer Noorban Fahmy told reporters that Saeed was being suspected by the police of taping a video a judge and attempting to obtain undue advantage using that video. She said that Saeed had denied this accusation.

She said that Saeed exercised his right to remain silent when questioned by the police.

The police also earlier arrested former Project Advisor of the Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure Ahmed Faiz for trying to sell this video. Criminal Court has given Ahmed Faiz a detention period of 15 days.

An urgent motion was submitted and a debate was held at the parliament, during which MPs called to investigate the case of the judge involved in the sex video. MPs said that the judge should tender his resignation immediately.

Meanwhile, a case related to a sex video involving an MP has been investigated by the police and forwarded to the Prosecutor General’s Office to be filed to court. It is not known if a trial has been held in relation to this case against Baarah MP Mohamed Shifaz and several others.
