I will provide employment for every individual who is willing to work: Gasim Ibrahim

Jumhoory Party presidential candidate Gasim Ibrahim has pledged to provide employment to whoever is willing to be employed, during his presidency.

Speaking at an event at the Jumhoory Party campaign post last night, the presidential candidate and Maamigili MP Gasim Ibrahim said that employment will not be a matter of concern during his presidency and that he will solve the problem of immigrant workers flooding the employment market.

“There are a lot of people in Maldives, a lot of young people without work, without a job. God willing, no one would have to remain without the opportunity to work, or without a job, during a Jumhoory Party government. Out government will find employment for everyone who is willing to work in the Maldives,” Gasim Ibrahim said.

He noted that one of the key aspects of development is developing human resources and that pledged to establish an excellent education system and excellent healthcare facilities in all the islands around the country. He said that no woman, during his presidency, shall be forced to give birth in a difficult environment and that he will establish good delivery facilities in all the islands.

Gasim said that the country should be ashamed of the state of the current health sector. He noted shortages on crucial medicines in a lot islands, and repeatedly highlighted the difficulties in which women have to undergo delivery in the islands.

He said that he will solve the shortage of medication in the islands and pledged that there will be no fatalities due to neglect or lack of proper medical facilities.

Gasim said that he would especially focus on the women during his presidency, and said that he will work to provide employment opportunities for women as a means to empower them. He said that women “belong not only in the kitchens” and that they play a crucial role in the nation building effort.

The Jumhoory Party presidential candidate vowed peace and prosperity, and that he will take the nation to new heights.
