We will win the election with a shocking majority: Dr. Jameel

Vice presidential candidate for the Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed has said that his party will win this year's presidential election through the first round of voting and with a majority that will shock the country.

Speaking to the press after their campaign trip to Shaviyani atoll, Dr. Jameel said that he is confident that they will win the election through the first round of voting.

“We are quite certain, with a good majority… from what we’re seeing now, PPM will win the election with a majority that will shock the people of the country, through the first round of voting,” Dr. Jameel said.

They do not feel that their primary competition is very disconcerting, he said.

Dr. Jameel said that Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has proven that they are incapable of proper governance and that the people would see the same failure if MDP came to power again.

Referring to the current government, he described his other major rival, President Waheed as a person who does not know how to allow different schools of thought, especially in a coalition government.

Reflecting on their campaign trip to Shaviyani atoll, Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed said that they saw overwhelmingly good support from the atoll.
