President Waheed's coalition to announce youth policy tonight, a rally to follow

President Waheed’s “Forward with the Nation” coalition has decided to hold a rally after the announcement of their policy on youth tonight, part of their campaign for the upcoming presidential election.

Speaking at a press conference by the coalition this morning, Dhivehi Rayyithunge Party’s (DRP) youth wing president Mohamed Jaushan Shareef said that the coalition will hold a special event to announce their youth policy at the STELCO Auditorium tonight and that it will be followed by a rally, in which the President will participate.

“This rally is not for youth alone. We invite everyone, young and old. We are coming with the youth to take the country forward and we believe that the general public has to joins hands with the youth to do this.”

Minister of State for Tourism and member of Gaumee Ithihad Party (GIP) Mohamed Shameem said that the coalition will also stage a music show at the Carnival area tonight. He said that the show will hold a barbecue spot participants and will see singers and boduberu (local tradition music) groups perform. The President Dr. Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik and the vice presidential candidate Ahmed Thasmeen Ali will both participate in the event, he said.

“We would like to add that there will also be a barbecue, organized the youth,” Shameem said.

The Forward with the Nation Coalition is to announce one half of their youth policy tonight, the first of such policies by the coalition.
