Police officer suspended for violating court order

A police investigation officer has been suspended from acting as a lawyer in the courts of North Huvadhu Atoll division for three months after he violated a court order.

Gaafu Alifu Villingili Magistrate Court said that the officer suspended for three months is Lance Corporal Ismail Abdullah.

The Villingili Magistrate Court said that the Gemanafushi Magistrate Court had ordered to keep Mohamed Zahir of Seasonge in Villingili under police arrest for 14 days, but he was released in violation of this order by Ismail Abdullah.

Mohamed Zahir of Seasonge in Villingili has been accused of trying to undermine Villingili Magistrate Court at around 17:45 on 18 June 2013.
