JP leader Gasim strongly criticizes MDP

Leader of Jumhoory Party (JP) and the party’s presidential candidate Gasim Ibrahim has strongly criticized the Maldivian Democratic Party’s (MDP) future guesthouse policy.

Gasim Ibrahim made his statements during an event held in a JP campaign post in Male’ last night.

He accused MDP of working on a fierce international tourism boycott campaign against the Maldives and said that their actions clearly contradict their guesthouse policy. He said that building guesthouses are futile if MDP carries on calling for a boycott of Maldives tourism.

JP President Dr. Ibrahim Didi also spoke at last night’s event. Praising Gasim, Dr. Didi said Gasim Ibrahim is the only person in the Maldives who has made an individual contribution to the development of country.

He said that the people accepts Gasim as a leader and that this apparent from every trip they make to the islands.

Three council members; Mohamed Niyaz, President of Baa Fulhadhoo Council, Mohamed Sujau, Member of Baa Fulhadhoo Council and Hussain Yousuf, President of Alif Dhaalu Dhidhoo Counil, signed for JP last night.

Dr. Didi revealed that JP has received 2,300 new membership forms, up until last night’s event.
