Large quantity of beer cans discovered in the sea

A large quantity of beer cans have been discovered in the sea on the west side of Male’.

A police media official said that the cans could have been thrown to the sea by a vessel carrying containers, or they could have spilled out of a boat that capsized.

He said that efforts are still ongoing to remove the cans from the sea, and that the police are investigating to find out the responsible party for the cans ending up in the sea.

The police said earlier that it is likely that the beer cans spilled out when a boat located at the Customs area tilted in the water, and that this incident took place this afternoon.
