President Waheed meets with President of Palestine

President Dr. Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik has met with Palestinian President Dr. Mahmoud Abbas yesterday, during his current visit to Palestine to officiate the 4th Islamic Conference of Bait Al Maqdis.

President Maumoud Abbas received President Waheed and First Lady Ilham Hussain at the Palestinian Presidential Palace in Ramallah and was presented with a guard of honor.

President Waheed also met with the King of Jordan Abdulla II on Tuesday, during a stopover visit to Jordan en route to Palestine and discussed bilateral relations between the two countries.

The President invited King Abdulla to make a visit to the Maldives. He also explored possibilities to strengthen economic ties with Jordan and also other fields including health, education and medical tourism.

President’s Office stated that their discussions also focused on issues of concern to the Muslim world and ways to strengthen the existing close ties between the two countries.

President Waheed praised King Abdulla’s efforts to solidify cooperation among Muslim countries and his efforts to bring peace and stability in the region.
