Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has said that they have purchased four fully automatic and air conditioned busses to improve bus services in Hulhumale’ and that the company will start using them next month.
Transport Executive at MTCC Ismail Farooq said today that it had cost a total of MVR 8.6 million for the company to carry out the project to acquire the four new busses. He said that each bus contains a capacity of 62 passengers, with a seating capacity of 42 passengers.
Ismail Faarooq said that the introduction of the new busses will enable the company to extend their services to sectors in Hulhumale’ that do not have bus services.
MTCC said that the new additional busses will increase the number of people seeking their bus transportation services to 8,000 to 10,000 passengers daily.
