Applications for the post of PIC member reopened

The President’s Office has reopened the opportunity to apply for the post of Police Integrity Commission (PIC) member.

The President’s Office said that the announcement welcoming applications for PIC membership published on 18 October 2012 following the resignation of one of its members had been cancelled, and opened the opportunity to apply for the post again today.

As published on the government gazette, interested persons are welcome to apply from today until 4 June 2013.

The President’s Office said that the application forms will be available from and can be submitted to the President’s Office between 8:00 and 15:00 before the deadline.

The post of member of PIC has been vacant since the resignation of PIC President Shahindha Ismail.

President Dr Mohamed Waheed withdrew the name of former Deputy Commissioner of Police Mohamed Rishwaan after it was submitted to the parliament for approval for the post of PIC member.
