Sri Lankan Airlines has introduced a service which gives passengers the opportunity to upgrade their tickets to business class through auction.
Named ‘Upgrade e-auction’, it allows economy class passengers to upgrade their tickets to business class by bidding in an auction, thereby making it possible to obtain business class tickets at a lower price than normal business class tickets.
If a passenger is not successful in the upgrade auction, his original booking on economy class will remain unchanged. Passengers will be informed if his upgrade to business class was approved between 48 to 72 hours before departure.
Sri Lankan Airlines said that this is part of its efforts to strengthen its services and provide various services at affordable prices.
Sri Lankan Airlines is one of the world’s largest airlines, and travels to 61 destinations in 33 countries around the world.
