The family of MDP Interim Chairperson Reeko Moosa Manik has said that he has been taken to Singapore for further treatment, following injuries sustained in yesterday’s protest.
A member of Moosa’s family told Sun that he departed to Singapore at around 2.00am last night.
“Moosa is currently admitted in a hospital in Singapore,” he said.
Moosa suffered injuries to his head during Police efforts to break up the protest yesterday, following which he was treated at ADK Emergency. Moosa told media that the Police caused him serious injury.
ADK Hospital said last night that they did not treat any critical patients last night.
Several arrests were made following yesterday’s MDP protest. Police acted aggressively in breaking up the protest, resulting in several people being taken to the hospital for treatment.
