The man who was being treated at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) in Male’ for overdose after drug packets burst inside him, has been taken to Sri Lanka for further treatment.
The 31-year-old tried to carry drugs, concealed internally, to Maldives via Sri Lanka.
Sun Online understands that he was taken to Sri Lanka last night.
Media Official of IGMH Zeenath Ali Habeeb said that he was taken to Sri Lanka as per his family’s wishes. She said that he was on ventilator and the drugs had not been fully removed from his body when he was taken to Sri Lanka.
It was revealed that the man, who arrived in the Maldives on a Sri Lankan airlines flight on 16 May, was carrying drugs internally when he took himself to the hospital after he started bleeding from the mouth, and doctors alerted the police.
