India deputes anaesthetist to MNDF hospital

India has deputed an anaesthetist to the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) hospital, Senahiya.

The Indian High Commission said that anaesthetist from the Armed Forces Medical Service, India, Wing Commander Aditya Sapra, had been deputed to the Maldives, following a request by the Maldivian government through Defence Minister Colonel (Rtd) Mohamed Nazim during his visit to India in Apr 2013.

The anaesthetist will work in the Maldives from 22 May to 21 June 2013.

The High Commission said in a statement, “India has always reached out to the people of Maldives whenever assistance has been requested and the present initiative will further strengthen the bilateral relations between both countries.”
