Ruptured packets leave drug mule in ICU for treatment for overdose

A man is being treated for overdose in the ICU in Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital after he tried to bring drugs into the Maldives, and the packets that were concealed internally ruptured.

The police said that the drug mule is a 31-year-old person who arrived on a Sri Lankan Airlines flight on Thursday.

The police official said that doctors at IGMH reported the incident to the police when the person took himself to the hospital to be checked. He said that doctors are currently working on removing the packets from his body.

It has not been possible to get IGMH’s comment regarding this incident.

A person who provided information to Sun said that the person went to the hospital after he started bleeding from the mouth, and he tried to depart to Sri Lanka for treatment before going to IGMH.
