The ferry service between Male’ and Villingili has resumed after being suspended for half an hour due to rough seas.

An official of Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) said that the ferry service was suspended at around 16:15 today following the advice of the MTCC Maritime Department.

He said that instead of five minute intervals, the ferry will now operate every ten minutes.

“The service has resumed. The ferries will now carry less people and operate every ten minutes,” he said.

The ferry services between Male’-Hulhule’ and Male’-Hulhumale’ continue despite the extreme weather.

A large number of people travel to Male’ from Villingili daily to go to school, work, and other purposes.
