Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) has said that the dismissal of Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed from the post of Minister of Home Affairs will not effect the party’s support to the current coalition government.
PPM’s Vice President and Fonadhoo MP Abdul Raheem Abdulla told Sun today that the party will always prioritize the interests of the nation, but a final decision regarding the dismissal will be discussed and decided by the party’s council, at a meeting scheduled for tomorrow in Addu City.
“Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed has been dismissed from the post of Home Minister today. The reason, as we are aware, is because he has chosen to be the running mate. But we will prioritize the interests of the nation on top party interests. What I am trying to say is, the dismissal of Dr. Jameel will not, by any means, reduce the support to the government. Although a final decision regarding the matter will be made during the council meeting tomorrow,” MP Abdul Raheem Abdulla said.
