Sandhaanu Luthfee dismissed from the post of Advisor at the President

President Dr. Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik has dismissed Ibrahim Moosa Luthfee (Sandhaanu Luthfee) from the post of Advisor at the President’s Office.

Media Secretary at the President’s Office Massood Imad said that Luthfee was dismissed because his whereabouts was unknown after he left the country.

Luthfee held the post of Advisor at the President’s Office at the same level as a Minister of State with a salary of MVR 32,000 per month.

Massood Imad said that post of Advisor requires the person to attend office and said that they have not heard from Luthfee since he lef the country, quite some time ago.

Ibrahim Moosa Luthfee tweeted that he received his letter of dismissal today.

Luthfee received a sentence of life imprisonment in 2002 during former president Maumoon Abdul Gayoom’s presidency. He had since resided in Switzerland up until August last year, when he came to MAldives on a holiday. His family still lives in Switzerland.
